A solar charger collects energy from your solar panels and stores it in your batteries. Using the latest and fastest technology, SmartSolar maximizes this energy harvest, intelligently steering it to reach full charge in the shortest possible time. SmartSolar preserves battery health, extending battery life.
By constantly monitoring the output voltage and current of your solar (PV) panels, MPPT technology ensures that every drop of available energy is drained from your panels and harvested for storage. The advantage of this technology is particularly noticeable when the sky is partly cloudy and the light intensity constantly varies.
Remotely control and monitor the extended functions of your SmartSolar MPPT charger with built-in Bluetooth by pairing it with your smartphone or other device via VictronConnect. If your installation is connected to the Internet, Victron's Remote Management Portal (VRM) gives you access to the full power of your MPPT, anytime, anywhere; the use of these two services is free. For remote installations - even when there is no Internet connection or phone signal nearby - you can monitor your MPPT via Bluetooth with an optional LoRaWAN (Long Range Network) device.
The intelligent charging output function prevents damage caused by dead batteries. You can configure the voltage at which SmartSolar disconnects a load - thus preventing your batteries from over-discharging. And here's the trick: SmartSolar attempts to charge the batteries to 100% every day. If it can't - during periods of bad weather - it increases the disconnect voltage, each day, until it does. We call this feature BatteryLife because it keeps your battery healthy and lasts longer.
