The Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller features an ultra-fast MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controller that improves energy harvest by 30% compared to PWM controllers and up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers. Especially in a cloudy sky when the light intensity changes continuously.
If partial shading occurs, two or more maximum power points may be exhibited on the power-voltage curve. Conventional MPPTs tend to lock onto a local maximum power point (MPP) which may not be optimal, but the innovative SmartSolar algorithm will always maximize energy harvest by locking onto the MPP optimal.
This Victron SmartSolar charge controller comes with the remote management capability using your smartphone or other Bluetooth compatible devices. This feature can be used to control, monitor and update the system wirelessly from the comfort of your home using the VictronConnect app. You can also be connected directly to a Color Control GX, computer or other devices.
The SmartSolar Charger is equipped with an internal temperature sensor to compensate the charging voltage according to its temperature. If the system temperature increases, the extended electronic protection of the controller will automatically reduce its output current (temperature > 40°C). In addition to the protection systems mentioned, this system is also equipped with safety devices against overheating, short circuit, reverse polarity and reverse current of the module.
